The new sponsorSHEEP lambs will be available for sponsorship in June 2024. We will send out announcements in our email newsletter!

We started the original SponsorSHEEP program in the spring of 2016 and new sheep are released for sponsorsheep every spring  (during lambing season). Each sponsorsheep lasts for one full year, you can choose to renew for a second year if you want. There are many levels of sponsorship that you can choose, numbers are limited due to lambing each year). Many farmers have adapted our sponsorSHEEP program to suit their own needs, so if you don’t get a lamb with us this year check out other farms. To other farmers that think this program may work on your farm we support you - please give our farm credit if you use the name SponsorSHEEP.

The new lambs go very fast on the day they are released. We recommend that you look ahead at which sheep you want to ensure you are ready to purchase at 9am on June 5th.

SponsorSHEEP

The "SponsorSHEEP" program is an opportunity for us to directly engage and connect with the broader fibre community to create a greater understanding of the process involved in raising sheep, growing and producing wool.

Not every fibre enthusiast has the opportunity (or proximity) to own or visit a sheep farm, so this program is an attempt to bring that fibre-farm experience to you!

Every SponsorSHEEP includes the basics:

* sheep naming rights

* Monthly updates via email including pictures.

For those that have the opportunity to visit the farm, you can schedule visits with your sheep, attend the shearing day, and hands-on learning at the farm. All yarn and fleeces will be shipped shortly after shearing and processing in the following spring!

Levels of sponsorSHEEP (per year):

$135 - 100g of wool. You can choose Worsted, DK or Fingering weight, or roving.

$285 -  300g of wool. You can choose Worsted, DK or Fingering weight, or roving.

$425 - The full fleece from your sheep - the fleece will come washed (unless you choose it raw).

$530 - 600g of wool. You can choose Worsted, DK or Fingering weight, or roving.

**NOTE: As we have learned the painful way, livestock does not always survive, even with the best of care. We cannot guarantee that your sheep will survive the entire year of sponsorsheep. In the event of death, we will continue to send updates and pictures of the 'flock' and will fulfill the yarn or fleece from another sheep at the end of the year.**

Sheep eat about 4lbs of hay a day from November until May, the program helps cover the cost of hay, minerals, and contributes towards veterinarian costs and wool processing fees.
